Mr. John Barnwell serves as Senior Vice President, Operations for Centric where he is responsible for tactical planning and execution for all growth projects across new and existing service areas. Mr. Barnwell also oversees all field operations, and Construction contracts.
Mr. Barnwell has over 45 years of upstream & mid-stream oil & gas industry experience; both domestic and international. He drilled and completed several hundred wells in the Arab Republic of Egypt and more than a thousand wells, both vertical and horizontal, in all of the major development areas of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. He joined Centric after providing post sale transition services to the new owners of his former company, Merlon International.
Previously, Mr. Barnwell was Sr. VP of Operations at Merlon International, an international E&P company based in Houston, Texas. Before joining Merlon, he was Director of International and Special Projects at Brammer Engineering, Inc. in Shreveport, Louisiana plus many years of operations management and as an engineer in private practice, as well as holding various board, management, and ownership positions with exploration, production, pipeline, and contract drilling companies.
Mr. Barnwell holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in Petroleum Engineering and Professional Aviation from Louisiana Tech University. He is a licensed Registered Professional Engineer in Petroleum Engineering.
Outside of work, Mr. Barnwell enjoys helping his six grandchildren learn and take part in flying, biking, hiking, water sports, fishing, and shooting sporting clays, along with a little golf and taking long walks with his wife and two dachshunds.
